Wednesday, October 19 was a day of celebration for Group
Publishing and for non-profit organizations around Colorado. On
this day Group held a banquet honoring 148 different organizations,
and gave $61,000 to 29 groups, with one group receiving $25,000!
It's all part of our Community Service Awards program. Each year
representatives from every department at Group form a team to
review the work being done by non-profit organizations around
northern Colorado.
These groups are invited to apply for awards in 12 different
categories. We are delighted to honor those who give so much of
their time and efforts to helping others.
One of Group's Core Values is servanthood. We believe that Jesus
calls us to work with a spirit of servanthood. As servants, we seek
not to elevate ourselves, but to focus on the needs of others. We
exhibit careful stewardship of our gifts, time, finances, and
material resources. Group has given more than a million dollars
through its charitable giving programs to worthy organizations like
those represented on the 19th.
We invite everyone to apply for our 2012 awards beginning in
late spring of that year. Keep your eyes open for announcements-and
maybe next year we'll be honoring you!
