Kids learn about obedience in this fun relay game.

You’ll need 2 sets of the following items: hairbrush, hat, scarf, coat, suitcase, doll, baby bottle, and pillow with pillowcase.
Preparation
None.

Bible Game Directions

Form two teams, and have teams line up for a relay race. Lay each set of items at the opposite end of the room on two separate chairs.

On "go," have the first team member run to that team's chair, obey your instruction, and return to the end of his or her team's line.

Call out the following instructions one at a time:

• Brush your hair.

• Put on the hat, scarf, and coat, then take them off.

• Pack clothes in the suitcase.

• Feed a baby with the baby bottle.

• Put the pillowcase on the pillow, then take it off.

Continue playing until all the players have had a turn. After the game, ASK: How did it feel to play this game? How easy or difficult was it for you to follow the instructions? How easy or difficult is it for you to follow your parents' instructions? your teachers'? God's?

FOR EXTRA IMPACT:

• Play again, but secretly tell one member of each team not to follow any of the directions. Ask: What happens when we don't follow instructions? Explain. How is that like or unlike what happened in our game?

• Read aloud Deuteronomy 11:1, and ask kids: Why does God want us to obey his commands?
