To avoid shrinkage, prewash selected clothing made of cotton or poly/cotton fabric. Do not use fabric softener or dry clothing with dryer sheets. Nylon is not recommended. 100% cotton is the best choice.
For Home Transferring with an Iron
- Preheat your iron to a cotton/linen or high setting. Use a dry iron, not steam. Lay out your garment on a firm surface (a folded bath towel on a table is preferable to an ironing board), and iron out wrinkles.
- Position the transfer (adhesive side down) onto your garment.
- Cover the transfer with a large piece of paper to avoid scorching. With your preheated iron, press down firmly and constantly move the iron back and forth as you count to 15. Move to the next section and repeat this step until you’ve gone over the entire transfer.
- The garment should be cold to the touch before you remove the paper backing. Remove the backing at an angle.
- This iron-on is environmentally safe and may be laundered. For best results, wash the garment in cold water (do not use bleach) and hang to dry. After drying, do not use an iron directly on the transfer area. Do not dry clean.
- Save this special paper! If you need to re-iron, cover the imprint with this paper and follow the above instructions.
For Professional Transferring with a Press
- Preheat the transfer machine to 325º to 350º.*
- Apply 50 pounds of pressure for 10-15 seconds.
- WAIT FOR THE GARMENT TO BE COMPLETELY COOL BEFORE PEELING THE TRANSFER OFF.
